IP Australia fee update

New IP Australia fee structure effective 10 October 2016

IP Australia is set to implement a new official fee structure on various activities starting 10 October 2016.

Of all the changes proposed, it is trade marks that will be affected the most with the removal of registration fees and an increase in both fees for application and renewal. This will bring IP Australia’s trade mark process more into line with oversees trade mark offices and will result in an overall lowering of costs to applicants.

New trade mark fees

Patent renewal fees are also set for a minor change, specifically later on during the term of a patent at the 10-14, 15-19 and the 20th anniversaries.

IP Australia’s website details all other changes to their fee structure but the ones listed above are perhaps the most relevant.
